Just Write It!
A low-pressure writing night for people with notebooks, half-ideas and good intentions
Need a push to actually write the thing? Just Write It! is a relaxed group session at Deptford Lounge, led by award-winning writer Ella Dorman-Gajic with Maddy Accalia. You’ll get an hour to write, then an hour to share work and get constructive feedback. Useful, friendly, and much cheaper than buying yet another “fresh start” notebook.

General Levy X Jungle Cakes Takeover
Big bass at the Fox, very little sitting politely
The Fox and Firkin is going heavy on Friday night, with General Levy, Ed Solo, Deekline and Killa P heading up a Jungle Cakes takeover. Expect jungle, drum and bass, bassline and enough low-end wobble to make your phone think it has gone clubbing too.

Chancha Via Circuito X El Búho
A day-to-night garden party with global grooves
Saturday brings a big one to the Fox: Chancha Via Circuito and El Búho with a day-to-night party that starts in the garden and rolls on indoors later. The line-up also includes Biomigrant, Valeria, Akolá Tambó, Tigerbalm and Saphra, so this is one for anyone who likes their summer plans sunny, rhythmic and slightly harder to leave than expected.

Vinyl Market Hosted by Far Out Records
Sunday crate-digging, Brazilian sounds and no entry fee
Far Out Records is back in the Fox garden for a free Sunday vinyl market, with record vendors, Brazilian tunes, jazz, funk, Latin, dub and world music floating about while you pretend you are “just browsing”. Dangerous words near a record stall, but off you go.
Entry is free, though you can RSVP here. Expect a family-friendly atmosphere.

🎨 Art Club - Monday 29 June, 15:30 - 16:30, Downham Library. After-school making for children helping build Downham’s rotating art display. Very wholesome. Very fridge-door adjacent.
🎶 Rhyme Time - Tuesday 30 June, 10:30 - 11:00, Sydenham Community Library. A free, no-booking session for ages 0 - 5, with songs, rhymes and a gentle start to the day.
📚 Story and Song Time - Tuesday 30 June, 10:30 - 11:00, Downham Library. Stories and songs for under-5s and their grown-ups. Free, no booking needed.
♟️ Chess and Board Game Club - Tuesday 30 June, 16:00 - 18:00, Downham Library. Chess, Frustration, cards and other table-top bits for children who like their fun with tactics. All abilities welcome, no booking needed.
✏️ Doodle Club - Friday 3 July, 15:30 - 16:30, Downham Library. A relaxed after-school doodle and colouring club for winding down before the weekend properly begins.
