This week starts with Windrush Day on Monday 22 June, a day to honour the Windrush generation and their descendants, and to recognise the huge part they have played in shaping life in Lewisham, London and the UK. For many local families, this history is not distant at all. It is in the music, food, work, faith, humour, care and community life that still carries South East London along.

In this week’s Loop:

  • Windrush Day marked in Deptford with film, food, poetry and community warmth

  • Opera, art, music and movement across Catford and New Cross

  • A Fox and Firkin garden double: football and Ibiza energy

  • Comedy for Lewisham Donation Hub, plus a few easy Pick n Mix plans

🗓️ Our picks for 22-28 June
