Trinity Laban’s BA Music Performance and Industry students take over The Albany for six nights of new bands, solo sets and “I saw them before they were everywhere” energy. It starts at 5pm each day, which leaves just enough time to pretend you had a plan all along.
Tickets are £5, with free tickets available for Trinity Laban staff and students with ID.

Mark Thomas Comedy Takeover Double Bill
Monday night politics, stories and sharp edges
Happy Mondays Comedy has pulled in Mark Thomas for a double bill at The Amersham Arms, with Sion James on MC duties. Expect stories from 40-plus years in live comedy, then an Edinburgh Fringe preview/work-in-progress in the second half.
Advance tickets start at £8, with student tickets at £5 and donation tickets supporting Lewisham Foodbank.

Outdoor World Cup Screening: England v Croatia
Big screen, beer garden, collective stress.
England’s World Cup opener gets the full Fox & Firkin treatment: a huge outdoor LED screen, Firkin Brewery pints and pizza from Freewheelin. Kick-off is 9pm, with the event starting at 8pm, which gives everyone a sensible hour to discuss formations and emotionally prepare.
Tickets are needed for England matches and can be found here. Free entry applies to other World Cup games.

Katie Mawson - “Gleanings” Exhibition
Collage, colour and old book cloth given a second life
Gallery White Box in Blackheath opens a new exhibition of collage works by Katie Mawson, made using cloth from discarded and damaged hardback books. It is quiet, tactile and a very good reason to wander over to Hare and Billet Road if your week needs a little less scrolling.

Catford Community Festival begins
A heads-up for Catford’s big summer run
Catford Community Festival starts this Friday with a Foodie Trail running through local cafés, pubs and restaurants. The big car-free Broadway day is next weekend, so do not turn up this Saturday expecting the full street-party treatment. This week is more of a warm-up lap, with food offers and festival bits starting to appear around town.
The main festival day lands on Saturday 27 June, 11am to 5pm, along Catford Broadway.

Headliners Father’s Day Comedy
For dads, non-dads and anyone who needs a proper laugh
Broadway Theatre has lined up Slim, Curtis Walker, Kane Brown, Aurie Styla and White Yardie for a big Father’s Day comedy night in Catford. A good option if your gifting strategy is currently “panic-buy socks and hope”.

Sunday supplies, smug tote bag optional
Blackheath Farmers’ Market is back in its usual Sunday slot, with seasonal food, producers and the gentle ritual of buying something excellent “for later” and eating it immediately.
Entry is free, and not all stalls attend every week, so it is worth checking before you make a very specific pastry-based plan.
