Brockley Max Opening Night
Big local energy, free entry and plenty of noise
Brockley Max starts its 2026 festival with a free opening night by the Brockley Barge. Expect local bands, performers, samba, soul, indie, funk, reggae and the kind of “I’ll just stay for one act” plan that rarely survives contact with a good line-up.
Hosted by MC Dre and PRZ Live, the evening includes South London Samba Youth, Lara Ziff, Koder, Gay Skeleton Club, Paulie Boy Blues, and Desrene Dekker with Desmond Dekker’s Aces Band. A strong Friday night save if you want your weekend to begin loudly and locally.

The Pied Piper of Sydenhamelin
Rats, songs and a very useful half-term escape route
Spontaneous Productions is heading outdoors in Home Park with a free family show full of songs, comic chases and magical trouble. It is suitable for all ages, with a cast of regular performers and the chance for families to take part as rats, townspeople and children of Sydenhamelin.
Keen to be in it? Rehearsals are on Friday 29 May, 12pm–4pm, and no acting, singing or dancing experience is needed. Which is good news for most of us, frankly.

BRÅK - Improvised Music
Three duo sets and absolutely no background playlist behaviour
BRÅK brings its improvised music series to waterintobeer in Brockley, hosted by Cath Roberts, Tom Ward and Colin Webster. Each night features three duo sets, with the hosts joined by guest musicians from the UK scene and beyond.
One for curious ears, adventurous drinkers and anyone who likes their Saturday night a little less predictable. Low-key, local and probably not like anything else you had planned.
