This weekend, Lewisham is doing what Lewisham does best: putting on a slightly chaotic but very lovely mix of music, comedy, crafts and things involving carbs. Excellent local behaviour.
In this weekend’s Loop:
Country music lands at the Fox & Firkin, cowboy hats encouraged
Comedy and reggae take over Broadway Theatre
A proper sourdough workshop for anyone ready to become That Bread Person
Easy kids’ picks at Deptford Lounge and Downham Library
🗓️ Our picks for 22nd May - 24th May

Comedy & Reggae
Big laughs, big basslines

Broadway Theatre is lining up stand-up comedy and live reggae for a Saturday night that should have a lot more warmth than your average group chat plan. Hosted by Kat B, with comedy from Curtis Walker, White Yardie, Rudie Lickwood and more, it’s a solid one if you want your weekend to involve actual jokes and not just someone saying “shall we go Catford?” eight times.
Be sure to reserve a seat here! Tickets are priced between £26.95 - £36.45 plus booking fee.
Saturday 23rd May @ 19:30 - 23:00

Sourdough Bread Making Workshop
For the starter-curious.

A hands-on sourdough session at Prendergast Vale School, covering the basics of making a starter, shaping a loaf and getting that crust-and-crumb situation under control. A nice one for beginners, patient bakers, or anyone who has ever said “I should really stop buying fancy bread” and then immediately bought fancy bread.
Tickets can be purchased here, and are £188.15. All equipment is provided; attendees are encouraged to bring their own containers to take food home.
Saturday 23 May @ 10:30 - 14:30

Kids Corner ✨
Small plans, big “thank goodness we left the house” energy
Arts & Crafts Club - Saturday 23 May, 10:30 -11:30, Downham Library BR1 5EP. A free all-ages craft session for kids who like making things and grown-ups who like not paying for plans.
Under 5s Rhymes & Stories - Saturday 23 May, 10:30 - 11:00, Deptford Lounge. Stories, nursery rhymes and songs for under 5s and their families. Dancing is apparently expected.
Colouring Club - Saturday 23 May, 11:00 - 11:30, Deptford Lounge. Free, all ages and no booking needed. Nice and simple, which is sometimes the whole dream.
