Welcome to Issue 3, the one where Lewisham gets its dancing shoes on!
This week has a distinctly “move your feet, try not to fall over” energy. From gentle dance sessions at the Albany to hip-hop workshops and a roller disco at Deptford Lounge, South East London is giving us plenty of excuses to leave the sofa alone for a bit.
In this week’s Loop:
Free dancefloor joy for over-65s at the Albany
Hip-hop and street dance for young people in Deptford
A pay-what-you-decide roller disco at Deptford Lounge
A little murder mystery and zine-making for anyone whose dance moves need a rest
🗓️ Our dance picks for 18th May - 21st May
Roller Disco
Indoor roller disco with music, lights and space to skate
Get your skates on for a feel-good evening at Deptford Lounge, complete with disco lights, a playlist, and plenty of space to glide, dance, wobble or practise your skills. This relaxed, all-abilities roller disco is open to all ages, whether you’re brand new to skating or already confident on eight wheels. Just remember to bring your own skates — and arrive early, as last entry for ticket holders is 8pm. There will also be a café open for refreshments.

Book your tickets here to save your spot! Prices are “pay-what-you-decide”, ranging from £5 - £10 based on what you think the event is worth. Attendees can make a donation on the day or after the event.
